Soccer Cleats Buying Guide
I know people often say, “Cleats don’t change a player or make him/her any better.” That may be better, but you will probably have a pair of cleats from 1-3 years, so it’s a big choice in front of you. So here’s my buying guide to help you moms out there, or even amazing players to aid your soccer cleat picking.
From years of experience, I’ve made good and bad choices while buying soccer cleats. This one gives me blisters, that one is AWESOME, so on. I just wish I had a list or a buyer’s guide to help me make that big decision. Here’s what I look for when buying a cleat.
- Look- I know I’ve chose a pair of cleats that after one month, and they were the most hideous looking pair out on that field and I hated it. If you are going to love your shoes, you better like the look to them.
- Comfort- Most likely the most important thing to take to mind when picking your pair of cleats. Your feet better be comfy, because you’ll be wearing those shoes for over 90 minutes, and nothing’s worse than shoes that chafe, or give you blisters while playing the beautiful game. Also make sure your toes never rub against the toe box or tip of the shoe.
- Studs- You usually need to pick what type of studs or cleats you have on you shoes, and your choices usually are between soft ground (muddy conditions), hard ground (desert-like or turf), and firm ground. (all-around) I would suggest buying firm ground cleats, because it works for almost every field you can play on.
- Price- Make sure you don’t pay extra cost for a low quality product. I’d say $30-70 cleats are good for little kids playing for fun, and for experts the $130-180 range products.
For little kids or recreational soccer players, you should buy rubber soled cleats, and be sure that they are comfortable enough to play soccer in. Be sure to buy regulation cleats rather then playing in tennis shoes, and if you shop right, you can buy good shoes for a low price.
This is my list of hints and tips for you when you make that special decision. Choosing your cleats.
