Umbro GT Pro

Built for speed and style, Umbro reveals their lightest boot to date for the 2010/2011 season – the new Umbro GT Pro.

Weighing in at just 8.3 ounces, the new Umbro GT is a significant introduction to Umbro’s boot range. After the success of the classic Speciali and the recently launched Stealth, Umbro GT is the latest in exciting boots to be released from the Umbro stable.

Built using a lightweight Japanese Teijin micro-fiber, the upper on the Umbro GT is crafted from just one piece to reduce weight, improve strength and maintain a sleek, streamlined style.

The Umbro GT also features the innovative A-frame cradle, a successful feature of the classic Speciali boot, which supports the middle of the foot, providing balance and protection. The Umbro GT isn’t just a technical boot either – it looks the part as well. It’s available in two colorways – sharp black and lime or cool white and orange.

Overall, the Umbro GT is built for the speedy, stylish player, which is why we’re delighted that Sunderland and England striker, Darren Bent will be one of the first players to test out their capabilities at the start of the 2010/2011 season. Bent, one of the Premiership’s leading goal scorers during 2009/2010 said: “I can’t wait to wear the new Umbro GT. Not only is the boot incredibly lightweight, which will help my speed on the pitch, it also looks good. I like to play my football with a degree of style and it is great to have footwear that reflects this.” Coming in a black and lime green colourway along with a striking white and orange colourway, the Umbro GT will be lighting up football pitches across England from August.

So what  can you expect from the Umbro GT Pro?

- Incredibly light weight – just 8.3 ounces
- Built in a streamlined style to aid players’ speed
- Created from strong Japanese micro-fibers to support the foot
- Visually dynamic
- Available in two colourways

The new Umbro GT will be available to purchase from August 1st 2010 from major sport retailers for a great $130 USD! SER will also have a review up in the next month, so watch out for that!

Ben

Most kids grow up spending Saturday mornings watching cartoons. Ben however got up early to watch English Premier League games on a special channel he convinced his father to order for that purpose alone. Ben carries that passion with him today, both on and off the soccer field. Though American, he still understands the rest of the world when they use words like "futbol," "footy boots" and "football pitch." He currently resides in Hong Kong, traveling frequently to the USA, China and other countries in search of the most up to date soccer information available.
