Tsoi Thinking: Why BARCA Are The Best.

 Have you ever thought of a time that your favorite team lost something important or they couldn’t face the top clubs in the world? Well, the amazing Barcelona has gone to the highest challenges and battled the top teams in Europe. Last year they responded to the calls of their underachieving and sent all of their players that did not fit Pep Guardiola’s plans away (Ronaldinho and Deco) .  Their race to the pinnacle of European football all started off when Barcelona fired Frank Rijkaard after his last game in England in May 2008 .  The reason for which he was fired was that his team couldn’t perform on the big stage. Despite a 6-2 mauling of Real Madrid in La Classico, he couldn’t get them to play well in the Champions League. People might say that his favored combination of Henry + Eto’o + Ronaldinho + Messi + Deco did not fit together and ultimately led to the club’s downfall.  It turned out to be a very frustrating year for Barca.

After this rough year for Barca, they hired Josep Guardiola, despite no real experience as a manager On arrival, he didn’t like the core of the ‘old’ club, and immediately shook things up in the clubhouse.  He wasn’t bothered when Ronaldinho left for AC Milan, Deco to Chelsea, Dos Santos to Tottenham, along with others. With this attitude, he was saying, “I don’t need any of these players because they just did not work out for Frank last season for Barca. They just needed to move on with their lives.” After signing new players such as Dani Alves, Keita, and Pique, Barca once again began acting like champions.  When the season started (2008-09) Barca were trying out new formations, tactics and they proved fruitful as goals were coming from every which way. Guardiola was managing like managerial legend, Sir Alex Ferguson till Christmas with victory upon victory. Along came the arrival of April and he proved that he and his side were even better than Manchester United and Ferguson.  He managed the team with a tremendous victory over Bayern Munich 5-1 in aggregate in the quarterfinals.  Along came May along with the prospect of Chelsea in the semi-finals,it was a game for the record books. After the first game ended in a  draw at the Camp Nou, they found themselves down with 10 minutes left in the Champions League, following a suburb volley from Michael Essien. It appeared there was going to be a repeat of the 2008 Champions League final between Chelsea and Manchester United , when Iniesta came out of nowhere with a stunning strike with moments left in the match.  

In the finals Eto’o and Messi scored the 2 goals to beat Manchester and they are Champions of Europe. At the end of the season they won the Champions League, La Liga, and Copa Del Rey.

The real reason why they are still the best

Josep Guardiola sold Eto’o to Inter Milan for Ibrahimovic and he said that he needed someone better for the club and Ibrahimovic was just the one to shape the new club.  Barca can do anything to become champions again and anything can happen.

• Barca has skills that no other team can figure what they can do.
