News:
Christian Vieri to LA Galaxy- False. Recent speculation has been going around that the 35 year old would go to LA for a trial run, after he and Atalanta mutually agreed to rescind his contract. Officials from the club have stated that Vieri has no link whatsoever to the Galaxy.
Argenis Fernandez to Revolution- True. New England have waived the 22 year old from Costa Rica after he was out on a loan spell at LD Alajuelense. He scored twice in twelve appearances, and New England have him back.
Gregg Berhalter to LA Galaxy- True. The New Jersian is back in the US after playing in Germany for TSV 1860 Munchen. He’s set to start in the Galaxy’s game on the 11th against Chivas USA.
Fredy Montero to Jail- Probably not. The Columbian striker who is currently joint top scorer in the league, and Player of the Month, is having troubles off the field. He is charged with assault, but it’s unknown whether or not he’ll be able to return for the Sounders soon, as he missed last week’s game away to Toronto.
Picks of the Week:
Game of the Week: LA Galaxy vs Colorado Rapids (2-3)
The Galaxy were able to claw back into the game, despite a horrible start, and able to lead the game for a brief stint. However, it was a short advantage, and the Rapids capitalized on their mistakes, claiming all 3 points from the fixture.
Player of the Week:
Connor Casey:
Connor was heavily involved in the Game of the Week, netting a hat-trick to sink the Galaxy, and bringing himself to joint leading scorer of the MLS.
